Spider-Man cookies, Iron Man masks and Captain America crafts are taking over a corner of Westfield Mt Gravatt, giving families a free activity to drop into during the school break.
The Marvel activity station runs from 21 to 25 September, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day, on Level 1 near Telstra. A different character-inspired activity is scheduled for every weekday.
Five days, five activities
Monday begins with Spider-Man cookie decorating before the craft table switches to Iron Man masks on Tuesday.
Marvel superhero cookie decorating follows on Wednesday, while Thursday belongs to Captain America masks. Spider-Man cookie decorating returns on Friday to close the five-day program.
The sessions are free and are part of Westfield Mt Gravatt’s wider school holiday program, which also includes cinema releases and other family activities around the centre.
A weekday holiday option
Unlike some of the Marvel activities running at other Westfield centres, the Mt Gravatt program is concentrated into the working week.
Families can attend during any of the four-hour sessions without having to follow the full program, with the activity changing from day to day.
Westfield describes the station as suitable for young Marvel fans and families looking for hands-on school holiday activities.
Hong Kong prize runs longer
A separate promotion gives Westfield members the chance to win a Marvel-themed family holiday to Hong Kong Disneyland.
Entries run from 17 September to 11 October, with eligible members able to enter daily. The Australian prize is valued at up to $9,245 and covers a trip for two adults and two children aged two to 11.
The package includes return flights, accommodation at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel and park tickets, with Marvel attractions including Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle among the experiences at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Friday brings the finale
The Mt Gravatt craft program finishes on Friday, 25 September, with Spider-Man cookie decorating returning for the final session. Activities run until 2:00 p.m., bringing the centre’s five-day Marvel craft program to a close before the weekend.
